Why use dogs?

Superior detection - reduced disturbance

Dogs are renowned for their amazing sense of smell. From missing persons to gluten, COVID-positive patients to hidden fungi, there is very little that a motivated and well-trained scent detection dog cannot detect.

In applied conservation, scent detection dogs function as an ‘ecologist’s sixth sense’. They can cover large areas in short timeframes, and are capable of far greater rates of detection when compared to human-only surveys. Our dogs are much-loved and indispensable members of the team.

We welcome enquiries as to how our dogs, field methods and analytical approaches can help you achieve positive environmental outcomes.
